- VX Nerve Gas Resolution: Margaret led the way in passing a
resolution to urge the United States Army to not process nerve agent VX (hydrolysate)
in the Delaware River in order to protect and preserve Delaware’s waterways.
The United States Army is considering shipping nerve agent VX (hydrolysate)
waste to a Hazardous Waste Treatment Facility in New Jersey which, after
treating the waste VX (hydrolysate), would discharge the treated waste into
the Delaware River.
- Responsible Solid Waste Disposal: Margaret sponsored a bill that
was passed to require public workshops to inform citizens about the proposed
expansion of the Cherry Island Landfill by the Delaware Solid Waste Authority
and Department of Natural Resources.
